At Marginal, we’re not just blurring the lines between art, science, technology, and the humanities – we’re creating a vibrant artscape where these disciplines intertwine, sparking innovation and igniting imaginations. We’re a hub for passionate individuals who believe in the power of creativity to push boundaries and challenge the status quo. Here’s the exciting part: we’re looking for brilliant minds to join our team!
Our journey began with a clear vision: fostering an environment where artists, researchers from science and the humanities, and technologists can collaborate, share ideas, and create groundbreaking projects. And it’s starting to show.
A Year of Impact
In our first year, we witnessed the incredible potential that unfolds when passionate individuals come together. We directly supported over 60 artists (50 Romanian and 10 international). Through the Open Practice Society platform, a cornerstone of our mission, we provided young artists (40 under 30) with resources and guidance to explore new approaches in their practices, via alternative STEAM education.
But our impact extends beyond this dedicated group. Through collaborative projects like Share, Tag or Dye, now at its third edition, Marginal has played a crucial role in promoting over 800 artists, a significant proportion of them being Romanian.
We’re fostering a thriving community aiming to make a difference, nurturing fresh talent, and igniting public interest in the intersection of art, science, and technology. But to truly amplify our impact, we need more go-getting, self-starting boat-rockers to join us!

At this point, we don’t have a regular income source (remember, we need fundraisers?). So your involvement will be on a voluntary basis. BUT we strongly believe in paying everyone, so we’ll do our best to budget our collaborators in the upcoming projects.
