The Urban Green Blueprint is an interdisciplinary exploration around the overlooked green spaces embedded in Bucharest’s residential neighbourhoods and their role in sustaining urban biodiversity. Bringing together artists, biologists and policy researchers, the project treats small gardens, fragmented patches of vegetation, and informal green spaces as living infrastructures where ecological processes, community care, and urban development intersect.

Through scientific fieldwork, artistic research and public observation, the project explores how plants, birds and other urban species adapt to changing environmental conditions, and how human practices of maintenance and care shape these ecosystems. By combining ecological data with artistic inquiry, The Urban Green Blueprint seeks to investigate forms of ecological knowledge that are often overlooked by urban planning and policy.

The project includes biodiversity monitoring across small green spaces in Bucharest, artistic research and documentation, an online research journal, public interventions and community engagement activities, with the aim of connecting ecological knowledge, everyday urban experience, and new approaches to the future of the city.
