We can’t underestimate the importance of social media in making our work known, but (sigh), do I really have to post today.. again?
Sounds familiar, right? We know it might sound a little eh and the consumption of art via screen (phone, computer) has become so ubiquitous that it often replaces a visit to a gallery or museum, while the experience is implicitly degraded, but itโs not all bad. While it does make us spend more time online than in the studio, it also has this strange power of effortlessly bringing us together. We want to make this count, so Share, Tag or Dye Again is that place where social media meets the tangible. Again, we invited the whole world to join us and work with us in creating one big(ger) collective work, since social media can instrument it so easily (and we wanted the best of both worlds).
Through an open call, 304 people from 35 countries joined us this year and together we hacked yet againย the idea of open call. It became a beautiful collaborative platform that knows no gender, country, religion, medium and well, no preconceptions or judgements of any kind really. All of you out there who joined us contributed with a link from your social media feeds, to be brought into matter using the cyanotype, a 180 years old photographic technique, based on iron salts that are UV sensitive and yield a deep blue print.

Public events:
- Global open call for contributions – links to a social media post, where the artist has self-promoted their artistic work, regardless of medium, approach, but this time with one limitation – the post had to be published no sooner than the previous open call (yes, fresh work for a fresh installation). Even with this one condition, we made it our purpose to not decide on behalf of anyone content-wise, so everyone was welcome and together we hacked the open call protocol – the validation/invalidation tool became AGAIN our collaboration platform.
