Meet winners from SoMe Festival 2023 – the augmented reality film festival – who will be present in April in Bucharest: Dasha Ilina (France, creator of the film Let me fix you), Stathis Roukas (Germany, director of Selective Mutism) and Collettivo GMRGP (Gaia Maria Rampello and Giorgia Papucci, Italy, who created the movie POLE A). Throughout the month, the four artists will interact with the local cultural scene and public, to develop their own artistic practices and to establish new connections with Romania. Their residencies in Bucharest will begin with a meeting with the public on April 12, where everyone will have the opportunity to meet the four artists and learn more about their projects.
And because SoMe Festival was no ordinary film festival either, the meeting at the French Institute will not be an artist talk like any other. The artists have prepared a series of surprise interactions that will actively involve the participants and facilitate a creative immersion in their artistic processes. Investigating the trends and interactions we have daily with the world around us – social, technological or more-than-human – we will experience alongside the artists concepts related to techno-folklore, (dis)connection and how first impressions are made. Organized under the name SOME AIR (*Artists in Residence), the event invites the public to a playful approach, around the concept of Aire de jeux créative/ Kreativer Spielraum/ Area giochi creativi/ Spațiu de joc creativ.
Participation in the event is free, with limited places, and access will be made in the order of arrival. The artists and organizers are waiting for everyone on Thursday, April 12, starting at 18:00, at the French Institute in Bucharest, Dacia boulevard no. 77.
Dasha Ilina is an artist of Russian origin, living and working in Paris. Through low-tech and DIY approaches, her work explores notions of care, privacy in the digital age and the current trend of turning to technology for answers.

SoMe Festival 2023 was an alternative film festival aiming to generate a transparent and exploratory dialogue, between the inhabitants of Bucharest and the national and international artistic community, with a focus on art, science and technology. Through the works selected, following an international open call, and divided into three categories – environment, technology and interpersonal relations, the participants had the opportunity to (re)discover well-known and lesser-known places in the city.
